My Approach to Therapy

Whether youre looking to free yourself from the weight of anxiety, set healthy boundaries, better understand your reactions, or improve your relationship, quality therapy can make all the difference. I strive to create a therapy environment that is authentic, warm, and free of judgment so that you can get right to the important work of self-discovery and self-improvement. I provide both individual and couple therapy for adults, operating a fully Telehealth practice (all sessions are done via secure video calls). As a trained generalist, I am equipped to help clients facing a range of difficulties, such as anxiety, depression, and persistent anger. I also have specialized training in two evidence-based trauma treatments (Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure) that are designed to help people take their power back from traumatic memories. With couples, I use a method of treatment called Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy that works by guiding both partners past breakdowns in communication to come to a new, fuller understanding of each other and the relationship. I would be honored to help you cultivate the life that you want for yourself. Please reach out for a brief phone call to determine if wed be a good fit.

My Practice & Services

Currently, I'm scheduling clients for Monday-Thursday, with flexible hours.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

To me, psychotherapy is about creating a space within your week that is solely for yourself: a space to examine what is working for you and what is not, to gain a new perspective on yourself, and try out new ways of coping.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

I am very open to hearing about past therapy experiences that diddidn't work for you. This can help me tailor the experience to your own personal style and can help with planning out what to focus on.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

The length of treatment can differ depending on many individual factors, but for most clinical concerns, it is reasonable to expect to see progress by 12 sessions of therapy. I make an effort throughout the course of therapy to check in regarding how it's addressing your hopes for the treatment. The most common schedule for therapy sessions is once per week. Once every other week can also work well, but meeting less frequently than that, in most cases, leads to ineffective therapy.
