My Approach to Helping

I seek to provide a non-judgmental, compassionate environment where clients feel comfortable sharing where they are at in life and what their concerns are. I encourage my clients to think of me as the "hired help." I have the skills and experiences to help but it's your job to decide where we go with therapy. You get to set the goals and then it's my job to help get us there.

I specialize in couples counseling, trauma recovery, and dissociation. I have advanced training in the Gottman Method of Couples Counseling, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and over 100 hours of additional training on dissociative disorders with a special emphasis on Dissociative Identity Disorder through the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISST-D).

My philosophy on counseling is simple. Let's find and fix the right problem. Whether it's childhood trauma, marital/relationship issues, or just concerns regarding depression and anxiety, I do not want to help you simply develop "coping skills" to deal with it better. I want us to find the root of the problem and heal it so there isn't anything left to cope with. If that makes sense to you then let me put my 20+ years of experience to work for you and call today! We work hard to offer all new clients an appointment within one week of them calling.
