My Approach to Helping
I enjoy helping people feel more peaceful within. I have a nonjudgmental and compassionate approach to therapy and believe the most important aspect of therapy is learning to discover who you are and what you want to change. I enjoy helping others discover insights into their life patterns and how to heal from the destructive patterns that can dominate their life. It is a joy to help others develop deeper meaning in their lives. I also find healing can take on many different paths. My job is to find the path that is right for you and walk that path with you. I have been trained in several different methods of therapy. I consider myself an integrative therapist; a therapist who uses several different approaches based on what the person needs who is coming to me for assistance. I also work in a very client centered approach; you are in charge of your treatment; how fast or slow you prefer to go and setting the goals that are most important to you.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I love helping others improve their sense of self. This is something that, once begun, can be a life long path. A path that leads to self contentment and acceptance. Knowing oneself is something that can help individuals better navigate the life they are living the circumstances they find themselves living. I love helping individuals come to a self compassionate state of being, one where they no longer doubt themselves or dislike their weaknesses. They come to understand "quirks", as I like to call them, are part of living and learning how to enjoy these quirks can help an individual move forward in life with meaning.
My Role as a Therapist
My role as your therapist is to help you discover what internal conflicts cause you distress, then help you resolve these conflicts. This journey can take several different paths and can result in exploring different aspects of your life. The goal is to walk with you to help you understand yourself and to help you develop the tools necessary to heal the aspects of your life that cause you distress. We travel this path together to discover together what has meaning for you in your life and we work toward building a life worth living.
