My Approach to Helping

You're in a crisis in a relationship or feel overwhelmed by anxiety or depression. You want a life filled with love and meaning, but unhelpful patterns of behavior keep getting in the way.

Spirituality is important to you and you want a therapist who sees you as a whole person. You've come to the right place.

I am a therapist who empowers you to turn a time of pain and difficulty into a time of healing and transformation. I guide you in becoming more balanced in mind, body, and spirit.

My passion is for helping people learn to live the best lives they can. I work with you to improve relationships and ease the pain of depression and anxiety. I also help you heal from old wounds that may be affecting current relationships and your sense of self.

I draw from a wealth of personal and professional experience to help you feel understood and supported as you go through the process of change.

The framework I use in therapy is the tension between acceptance and change. What do you have to learn to accept because it's out of your control? How can you practice developing trust in God to help rather than trying to force solutions? I help you see with compassion the parts of yourself that you don't like and I support you as you learn to change what you can.

I help you learn to give less power to the negative thoughts of depression and anxiety. I often teach gentle movement, breathing practices, and mindfulness practices. Research has found these practices help with anxiety and depression.

For feelings that seem overwhelming, I teach emotion regulation. If you're stuck in unhealthy patterns in relationships, I help empower you to change. I help you see the roots of these behaviors and look at why you developed them, then learn healthier ways of being in a relationship.

I'm so glad you found me. I encourage you to reach out for a free 15-minute phone consultation.
