I believe counseling needs to provide a safe, nonjudgmental, educational and supportive environment for individuals who perceive their current behavior as detrimental to their well-being and which could lead to more substantial problems. My passion is to help clients understand the potential of their behavior and discover techniques of coping, acceptance, accountability and recovery that allow clients to reach their full potential.

More Info About My Practice

The code of ethics in my profession dictates that I agree to "do not harm" to clients or their family's. In order to uphold such a practice, due to the long-term and possible adverse negative impact of formal diagnosis, I do accept insurance and am not on any insurance panel. However, for those who wish to use their insurance benefits I have obtained a national provider number which will allow you to submit for cost reimbursement based on your policy.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I use a client-centered approach in my work with individuals, remaining optimistic and focusing on how both healthy and unhealthy behaviors are ways to deal with life's difficulties. I offer acceptance, understanding, and respect, incorporating non-directive and diverse techniques to promote lasting change and personal growth.

I have worked extensively with teens, couples, individuals, and families who struggle with issues such as depression, chemical dependency, and anger. I understand the devastating effect of addiction and mental health disorders. This is my second career, which means I integrate the experience and knowledge that comes from working in a Fortune 500 company with first-hand experience facing the challenges men encounter in their careers as they struggle to balance their family and relationships with their careers.

I am a certified Prepare-Enrich facilitator, working with engaged couples to create a healthy foundation for a healthy marriage. I also work with couples who want to improve their marriages.

I've led communication workshops for parents and teens, overseen Celebrate Recovery groups, and offered men's support groups. I offer dialectical behavior therapy, and am certified in Aggressive Replacement Therapy (ART), which aims to help individuals regulate their emotions and manage anger.
