My Approach to Helping

I offer premarital education and relationship coaching for dating, engaged, married, and same-sex couples through PREPAREENRICH. Premarital education and relationship coaching provide you with the skills and tools you will need to capitalize on your strengths and to face challenges that may arise in your relationship. I love working with couples, helping them to learn about each other, prepare forcontinue a lifetime together, and discuss values around communication, conflict resolution, financial management, parenting, and other topics.

More Info About My Practice

It is important to find someone who you feel comfortable working with, and that your counselorcoach is someone who is empathetic, trustworthy, non-judgmental, and accepting. To ensure that we are a good fit, I offer a 30-minute complimentary consultation to answer questions, get to know you, explain the PREPAREENRICH assessment, and go over my process.

I am active in dog rescue and strongly believe in the healing power of dogs. My office is dog-friendly, and I encourage clients to bring their four-legged family member(s)!

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

Often when we experience difficulties and challenges, we do not have a neutral party with whom to share our story. Sure, we can go to trusted family and friends and, while they can be supportive and may have the best intentions, it can be helpful to have someone who is professionally trained to listen and provide support, compassion, and empathy. I provide a listening ear, tools, and skills in a nonjudgmental, safe environment to help clients create change and find new ways to approach relationship challenges and transitions. I also work from a strengths-based perspective, and believe that focusing on your relationship strengths is equally as important as working on your growth areas.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

I believe that the greatest indicator of change is the relationship between client and therapist. While it is important to choose an educated, experienced therapist, it is crucial to find someone you can trust to be open and honest with, and who will not judge or make assumptions about you or your relationship. Each couple's story is unique, and I am privileged to be a part of my client's lives in a way that few people are. Because I believe so strongly in the importance of the clienttherapist relationship, I offer a 30-minute complimentary consultation to determine if we are a fit.
