My Approach to Helping

As a counselor, I believe wholeheartedly that each and every person deserves compassion and kindness. I am very Humanistic and person-centered in this work; however, I also draw upon Existentialism, Exposure therapy, and Art & Drama therapy in my work as a therapist.

I believe that throughout our human lives a small part of ourselves become frozen, it is often the job of therapy to re-awaken these parts within us so that we can live a more fulfilling life. I am not here to "fix" you, because I do not think you are broken. Instead, I wish to walk alongside you, as you open both old and new doors inside and outside of yourself and ultimately learn to draw the needed resources into your own life that will bring about your growth and fulfillment.

I have a background in Drama, Exposure therapy, Massage therapy, Yoga instruction, and various forms of art. These paths have given me an eclectic and open approach to therapy.

However, I mainly draw from Drama Therapy, Exposure Therapy, and existential paradigms to inform my work with clients. I primarily work with clients with specialized needs, specifically with eating disorders, anxiety disorders, and obsessive-compulsive tendencies. However, I believe I work well with many people. If you feel that we would be a good fit I invite you to please schedule a consultation with me.

Groups I Work With

My ideal client might be suffering from diverse forms of anxiety, interpersonal problems, or the feeling that things are just not quite right. The client's issues might stem from various forms of trauma, chemical imbalances in the brain, unmet needs in childhood, and maladaptive coping skills. Trouble coping with daily stressors, panic symptoms, confusion, or engagement in obsessions and compulsions might be a large part of the lives of clients I work with. My clients may desire more joy, stability, fulfillment, and a deeper connection with themselves or others around them in their life.rn
