#TimeIsUp! About 20 percent of the population relate in a way that is toxic and abusive to others. When healthy relating muscles haven't developed early on, individuals with dysfunctional relating styles turn to manipulative tactics that harm, abuse, and harass the people they try to relate to, or actually the people they try to control.

How do you know if someone like this is in your life? You feel uncomfortable around them, confused, on guard. You feel less safe, not like yourself. You may even feel so stressed out that you are not able to think straight! When people cross social contracts of appropriate social behavior, it is shocking, and can actually result in symptoms of trauma!

More Info About My Practice

So, what do we do about it? If our friends and family are worn out or not helpful, then get some professional help! No one is alone in this as we have all been scathed at some point or other by a manipulator either at home or work or anywhere! It is all of our task to bring forth the wounds and missteps we have endured so that they can be worked upon and healed, so we can grow and move on!

A mind/body psychotherapist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), I am aware of stress patterns in the body as well as ways to work with them to resolve the distress or trauma and strengthen that part of the nervous system responsible for our autonomic responses involving defense and rest.

It is my aim as a psychotherapist to get as clear as possible on the problem, what you want to do about it, and the best approach to dealing with it!

What Makes up a Problem?

If you feel stressed out, get support! Over time stress negatively affects our mind and body. Talking it out helps, as well as addressing stress in the body!! You can learn to tend to and regulate stress and distress when it occurs, and you can heal yourself!
