My Approach to Helping
We are drawn to what is familiar. Most of us learned as children that we had to behave and think in certain ways to survive in our given environments. This knowledge became our childhood coping skills, which may no longer be effective in our adult relationships, and may need to be re evaluated. In addition, we may find that we are depressed, anxious or repeatedly choosing the "wrong" partner because the familiarity feels safe. I have an empathic understanding of these issues and will help you to explore and move toward healing, so that you can enjoy more happiness in life, along with loving, healthy relationships.
Working from the information that you bring in and taking my lead from you, I will gently help you to recognize and re-evaluate patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving which may no longer be serving your best interests.
We may decide to utilize guided imagery as a tool in helping you to rework past trauma.
