My Approach to Helping
I believe that we are drawn to what is familiar. Most of us learned as children that we had to behave and think in certain ways to survive in our given environments. This knowledge became our childhood coping skills, which may no longer be constructive as adults. We may unconsciously utilize these coping skills as ways of thinking and feeling about ourselves as adults and about our adult relationships. If we find ourselves to be depressed, anxious or repeatedly choosing the "wrong" partner, we may need to re-evaluate our old belief systems. What is familiar, although comfortable, may no longer be serving our adult needs. I have an empathic understanding of these issues and will help you to move forward so that you can enjoy more happiness in life, along with loving, healthy relationships. Working from the information that you bring in and taking my lead from you, I will gently help you to recognize and re-evaluate patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving which are no longer serving your best interests.
