Discover the value of managing symptoms of anxiety and depression. I specialize in issues related to mood disorders, chronic illness, and aging, and help ease those stressful doctor/patient interactions. I work with individuals and families facing an array of mental health concerns, including neurodegenerative disorders, chronic health conditions, and family care-giving. Caring for family members who are chronically ill or experiencing elements of dementia is truly a labor of love, but the burdens that come with care-giving can take a toll on the health and well being of the caregiver. I work with families to address the difficult conversations that must take place. I will work with you, collaborate with your health care providers and other significant individuals important to your therapy goals, to facilitate sometimes difficult communications and provide support to you and your family.

I also have experience with research-supported complementary and alternative approaches to health and wellness.
I approach clinical work from a biopsychosocial and spiritual perspective, which simply means I consider all aspects of an individual's health, providing a more holistic view of mental health and wellness.

In addition to my graduate education and training, I have an extensive background in martial arts and energy healing. I have studied Tai Chi, Qigong, Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, and karate, as well as energy healing arts, such as shiatsu and reiki. Research supports integration of some healing arts, such as Tai Chi and Qigong, to combat age and illness related issues. This background has been a substantial part of my own growth and has developed in me a sense of calm and strength that serves as a foundation for my work with clients.
