My Approach to Helping
I work collaboratively with clients: providing a non-judgmental and open-minded space for clients to feel safe sharing their thoughts and feelings while we work together to identify and achieve therapeutic goals. I help clients gain increased self-insight, realize their strengths, and learn new tools to help them work towards increased stability and healing within themselves and their relationships. Therapy can be comprised of brief or long journeys, depending on client needs and desired accomplishments.
I bring an educational background of Communication Studies to my therapy work and particularly enjoy helping clients learn more about assertive communication, problem-solving, and conflict management. I have received additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and continue to study neuroscience and rewiring the brain for anxiety coping, mindfulness, and distress tolerance strategies.
I value the experience I have gained over the years, working with clients from all over the world, and have put my education in multicultural communication and diversity training to good use as a mental health professional in California.
At this time, I work exclusively with individual adults, couples, and family units in the afternoons and evenings, M-F, through telehealth (video or phone) sessions.
