What's My Approach to Therapy?
Sometimes life takes us on a path that leaves us with painful memories, and these experiences can interfere with our sense of well-being. It is understandable that processing these thoughts and feelings alone can be overwhelming. If you are interested in exploring how your life experiences may be impacting your present choices and would like to find ways to shift painful patterns, I welcome you to have a conversation with me.
I believe that the mind is intricately connected to the body. My primary orientation incorporates a body focused psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing (SE) method. SE is an innovative mind-body therapeutic approach for resolving trauma and relieving chronic stress symptoms by bringing attention to the way our bodies can physiologically regulate to work through states of psychological distress and dysregulation. This integrated approach focuses on both psychological and somatic states and has proven very effective in healing past traumas, curbing self-defeating behaviors, developing healthier ways to connect with others, and improving trust in one’s self.
