Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Therapy can carry a stigma in our culture. That's one of the things I'd most like to change. Asking for help can be one of the hardest things anybody has to do. Therefore, by definition, therapy is one of the most courageous things you can do.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

The relationship between the therapist and client is the most important part about therapy. That means finding someone you can talk to openly and learn to trust is the first step in making therapy work for you.

I generally consider the first three sessions a trial period. As we get to know each other we're both seeing if we are a good fit. We are also talking about what your goals are and how you'd like to see things change.
