My Approach to Helping
Paula Butler a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, as well as a LicensedCertified Addiction Counselor and AAMFT, Approved Clinical Supervisor is committed to helping individuals and couples find resiliency, meaning, and purpose in their lives.
William Shakespeare wrote, “This above all, to thine own self be true”. As a therapist, my role is to help you become true to yourself by working through old narratives, unhealthy patterns, and discouraging self-talk that prevent you from being the person you would like to be. Although your family environment, early experiences, past and current social interactions, have played an important role in the development of your personality and perspective on life, they do not have to define your future. Whether you are an adult individual or a couple, I applaud your courage.
I work with adult individuals and couples. As a clinician, I most frequently see clients who are struggling with connection in their intimate relationships, including betrayal, infidelity, psychological abuse, and sexual addiction. We will not always adhere to a strict sixty minute session. If we’re into something important, we will honor that space and time.
I invite you to reach out for a complimentary consultation and to answer any questions you may have about myself or my practice.
