My Approach to Helping
For the past 10 years, I have worked as a licensed clinical therapist with clients ranging from children to the elderly. I have experience with various diagnoses, and, in both the in-patient and out-patient settings. It has been an honor to be a part of my clients’ recovery, strengthening, and healing.
My experience has been that we tend to benefit from a supportive and accepting environment, where we can identify and work toward our goals. I believe that we can learn to take control of our focus and thinking, which can lead to improved mood, improved sense of self, and true healing.
I have experience with cognitive behavioral therapy, which is effective in identifying unhelpful thinking and how to change a habit. I also have experience using dialectical behavioral therapy, which assists in the understanding and effective use of our emotions.
To be mindful of thoughts and feelings is a greatly empowering ability. It is a privilege for me to work with individuals on their journey to this empowerment.
We all face challenges in life and sometimes need some assistance in navigating through them. I believe that therapy can be an effective way to get clear, find understanding, and learn skills to strengthen us to face life with courage.
