What's My Approach to Therapy?
During our initial session, we will discuss your specific needs and therapy goals while developing an individualized plan. Going forward, you’ll be supported and encouraged to explore thoughts, memories, and feelings, and invited to consider how memories and experiences are held in the body as sensations and emotions. This integrative approach can be profoundly effective in regulating symptoms and increasing tolerance of stressful interactions and events. In addition to talk therapy, you will be offered Jungian and mind-body approaches, such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), sandtray, guided-art therapy, trauma-informed yoga, and mindful, cognitive-based therapy. For couples, I use emotionally-focused methods for deeper understanding and meaningful communication.
I explore a variety of courses, so I'm both up to date with current practices as well as building skills in mind-body approaches.
