My Approach to Helping
It's not always easy to recognize it, but we each have strengths that can help us change our lives. Through uncovering and developing strengths, I can help you negotiate challenges such as depression, anxiety, stress, ADHD, behavioral difficulties, life transitions, and relationship problems. I specialize in cognitive-behavioral therapy with adolescents, families, couples and individuals. The cognitive-behavioral model emphasizes the relationship between our thoughts, feelings, behaviors and life experiences. By monitoring and altering the way we think, we can change the way we feel and behave, and therefore, our overall life experiences.
I have been employed the human service field for eight years. In addition to working as an outpatient therapist, I have worked with at- risk youth and their families in school and transitional housing settings and have experience assisting individuals on the autism spectrum to develop social networks, gain meaningful employment, and live independently. I have a passion for helping others overcome life's inevitable challenges and look forward to hearing from you.
