My Approach to Helping
I help college students and young professionals overcome trauma, depression and other difficult circumstances to reclaim hope and find their place to impact the world. While my approach is flexible based on client need, I usually focus on skill-building in the first few sessions to help a client feel more competent to handle symptoms. I then move toward the deeper work of helping the client discover and heal from whatever is causing the symptoms. The final phase of treatment is focused on helping my client optimize their functioning to be able to achieve their personal goals. I see my role as a therapist as both coach and partner; I'll work with you to set goals and then provide you with coaching and accountability to reach those goals.
