My Approach to Helping
The psychologist Viktor Frankl said that we do not know our destiny until we work through the unique challenges that life puts before us. I will help you find ways to meet those challenges by helping you increase insight, improve problem-solving capabilities, and discover healthy ways to process or contend with difficult thoughts and feelings. In general, I use a strength-based approach that aims to identify all that right with you so that you can find within yourself solutions to the problems that cause you emotional distress and practical difficulties.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
Chances are if you are seeking a therapist, you are struggling with anxiety and depression. Whether your distress is related to relationships, addiction, trauma, uncertainty about the future, mood swings, your sexual identity, or problems common to your age (teen or adult), I can help you identify, manage, and address the symptoms.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
You and I will decide together how therapy can help. You might want an independent point of view on some aspect of your life; specific suggestions for managing practical problems and emotional distress; insight into yourself; help organizing your thoughts and feelings; increased motivation, or the good feeling that comes with sitting with someone who will listen to and trust you. In general, therapy will help empower you to begin the process of shaping your life in positive directions.
