My Approach to Helping
My name is Kim, and I have over 16 years of experience as a Licensed Social Worker. Much of my work has been helping clients adjust and overcome obstacles and barriers in their path that negatively impact them in life.
I have extensive experience with clients dealing with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, as well as clients facing acute trauma, community violence and traumatic grief. In the last 2 years, I have been employed on the frontline in a hospital while working with patients and families who have been directly impacted by COVID. Healthcare professionals and caregivers are at risk for face secondary trauma or compassion fatigue, which I also work with often in my practice.
My style is person centered, compassionate and strengths based. Typically, I utilize eclectic, narrative, psychodynamic, mindfulness based and family systems therapy modalities. My goal is for my clients to be comfortable so that I can come alongside them wherever they may be on their journey to help them heal, grow and thrive.
