My Approach to Helping
Sherman Murphy is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Registered Art Therapist, and Certified Special Education Instructor. He has a total of 20 years of experience as an educator with 9 years in mental health. He is passionate about assisting adolescents, adults, and couples to achieve their full potential through rigorous attention to personal growth. Sherman specializes in sexual trauma, depression, anxiety, school-based issues, relationship complications, LGBTQIA difficulties, and faith-based barriers. Sherman completed his Master of Science (MS) in Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy from the historical Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts. He received his special education certification in 2005 to become a behavioral specialist. He utilizes a host of therapeutic modalities including but not limited to: cognitive/behavioral (CBT), psychoanalytic, and creative expression therapies. Most of us feels broken at some point. Sherman is poised to help you put these pieces together in a creative and supportive manner.
