My Approach to Helping
Are you feeling stuck in a rut? Unsure of how to navigate the future or your present life? Feeling anxious or depressed? Life is full of twists and turns and sometimes, we just need a little help to gain some perspective and enhance our coping skills. Whether you are experiencing changes in your career, your relationships, or are facing inevitable life transitions, it is helpful to have a safe and supportive space to navigate your journey. I received my Masters in Counseling in 1996 and worked in individual and group settings for several years. I have experience working with people who are struggling with trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, long term illness, relationship struggles, career changes, and life changes.
There are many tools to help with the inevitable bumps in the road of life including: stress management, cognitive behavioral therapy, and a focus on lifestyle approaches that help to mitigate depression and anxiety. I offer a supportive space, free of judgment to explore the choices or adjustments that you may be facing.
We are not designed to live in a constant state of fight or flight so it is all the more imperative we make efforts to take care of ourselves. Perhaps you are unhappy in your job and considering a change or are coping with the loss of loved one. Maybe you are about to be an empty nester? Everyone deserves to be supported and I am here to help.
