My Approach to Helping
Out of my own suffering came my desire to help you deal with yours. I know how it feels to be hurt, or feel helpless. It's just the human condition, not a failure. But you needn't suffer alone. I'm highly trained and experienced in helping you.
Often, clients have mentioned they appreciate my warm, interactive, direct but wise style. Apparently, my dry British humour helps!
Despite my traditional psychological training, after 30 years in practice, the last 20 I've offered up the simple wisdom of mindfulness - the practice of moment to moment internal awareness. Drawn from my study and practice of Buddhism (origin of mindfulness), it felt unethical to withhold it from clients like yourself, needing help. From that perspective, to witness you move from fear to confidence, feeling stuck to making desired changes, or recognize your full potential if a heartfelt journey I'd love to share with you. Having a competent guide is the best gift you can give yourself, and often the best way forward.
You have many choices available. It's sensible to shop around for a therapist. If my office isn't convenient, I offer online video-chat sessions. Does no commute appeal?
