If you feel overwhelmed, stressed and anxious, managing those feelings can be very difficult. Maybe you feel like you are not good enough, or not doing as well as you would like. Worrying can be exhausting, and you may notice yourself feeling keyed up or tired from each day. If you want to carry less anxiety, feel better about who you are, and increase your feeling of calm, psychotherapy can help.
When you come in for a first session, we will talk about what's bothering you now and what areas you would like to work on. During subsequent sessions, we can discuss the past and what has lead up to this point, or we can talk about the issues you are currently dealing with and work to sort out the past and present.
If you are seeking therapy you have likely tried in all the ways you know how to improve your life and emotional well-being. You may feel overwhelmed, anxious, sad or even depressed. You could feel ambivalent about starting therapy and what that could mean for you. By working with me you would find I take care to help us together to understand how you may have gotten to this place in life and furthermore help pave the way to feeling better.
You would find from working with me that I offer a gentle yet honest, genuine, patient, thoughtful approach in our therapeutic journey together. Often, effective therapy and healing can be challenging and takes time. Within the initial consultation period we would take the time to see if working together feels like a good fit for the both of us.

More Info About My Practice

I am here to support you. We can notice together what's happening in your life and work to help you feel better about who you are. I use a nonjudgmental approach to help you feel better. I use a comfortable, safe space where we can explore your feeling and behaviors to help you reach your goals. I believe that seeking support at different times in life can be empowering and lead to more personal growth and a strong sense of yourself.
My approach comes from a base of curiosity about you, your life, relationships, thoughts, and feelings.
Working with me, you would find perhaps a "different" experience. I offer a non-judgmental, open space for us to explore all of your thoughts, feelings, and concerns. I create strong connections with my clients and foster a safe environment to allow each individual to realize his/her true self and what that means for each person. In general, I am not an advice giving therapist (who really wants to be told what to do?!). I rather prefer to understand your request and come up with solutions collaboratively.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I love helping individual adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, self esteem issues, and people who are seeking greater satisfaction in their personal relationships.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

My role as a therapist is to collaborate with you, to help you grow. I often create strong connections with my clients and help them feel safe to be themselves as we explore what that means for each individual person.
I use a psychodynamic approach to the therapy process. Meaning that the patterns, the thoughts and the feelings you have, are sometimes conscious and sometimes unconscious. The conscious are explored and the unconscious become more aware and then are incorporated in a way that works more effectively throughout your life. The psychodynamic theory also emphasizes the connection with the therapist and how relating patterns transpire in this and your other relationships.
