My Approach to Helping

I am approved EMDRIA consultant. I provide a warm, empathic environment that allows you to explore the issues that have brought you to therapy. After this exploration I work with you to gain insight to the issues whether it be feeling "stuck" in the past, suffering with depression or anxiety, or a relationship, work or college concern. With this knowledge I work collaboratively with you to see you move to a place of action, to either process old memories that are keeping you "stuck", or to learn new skills to help you move forward. . I believe there is always hope and change is possible.

More Info About My Practice

I accept Carefirst Blue Cross BlueShield.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I am an approved EMDR Consultant through EMDRIA and a trauma specialist. I am trained in several theoretical orientations such as
Psychodynamic Therapy, Short Term Psychodynamic Therapy, and DBT.
I specialize in couples therapy and trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

To help people connect with their own strengths and develop a full sense of who they are. It is important for people to understand it is possible to change themselves or life situations and that there is always hope.
