My Approach to Helping

I provide a strengths-based, client-focused approach for a variety of mental health and addiction issues. I specialize in treatment of addictions and mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, and relationship issues. My goal is to help you achieve deeper insight, understanding, and support for your emotional needs. I have worked in the mental health and addictions field for 8 years. I embrace diversity and believe each person is unique and valuable, and have seen first-hand how people can make positive change utilizing their strengths. My approach is supportive and direct.

My therapeutic approach is to support you through the process of change while also helping to provide the mental, emotional, and behavioral nudge necessary to implement the change talked about in therapy sessions, fostering accountability and responsibility for your own change process, which is different for everyone.

In most cases mental health symptoms are the core issue and alcohol or drugs often used to self-medicate. Like peeling the layer of an onion, I will help you evaluate for underlying mental health symptoms and work with you to develop healthy coping skills.
