Billing and Insurance

I don't currently accept insurance, but I can provide documentation if clients wish to submit to an insurance company for "out of network" benefit coverage

Meeting people where they are is what I strive to do - not forcing them into something they do not want or do not think is beneficial. A collaborative connection is important to me and I believe that others are best served when I can honor a person's individuality and inherent strengths to help move through problems.

With couples, I use methods based on over 40 years of research by Drs. John and Julie Gottman. My goal is always to increase connection and satisfaction within the relationship and I work hard to ensure that couples do not leave the office feeling more hopeless than before arriving.

More Info About My Practice

I do not accept insurance, however, I am happy to provide you with paperwork which you would use to file for out of network reimbursement from your insurance company. I always encourage clients to file for reimbursement as most plans allow you to choose a provider who is out of the network.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Specific issues I enjoy helping with are marital and couples issues, anxiety, worry, depression, emotional dysregulation, child and adolescent-specific issues, and trauma-related issues.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

I am often disheartened to hear about negative therapy experiences. Many people don't know what good therapy should look like and therefore often don't know they've had a bad experience (except maybe that something didn't feel quite right). I work to make therapy beneficial for my clients by having integrity in all I do. I will be honest with you and sincerely committed to helping.

With couples, I believe that many couples therapists mean well but are unequipped to be effective. Be cautious about seeing someone who does not have a theoretical model they work from (such as Gottman Method, EFT, Imago, etc) or who does not have adequate training. About 70% of couples perpetual issues are unsolvable, so if you are meeting with a therapist who is giving you solutions, it will probably not work. The focus should be on helping you learn how to talk things through without adding distress and without increasing disconnection.
