My Approach to Helping
I believe our bodies have a deep intelligence and a wisdom more potent than most of us realize or are willing to allow ourselves to see. This internal knowing, present in each and every one of us, has all the power to guide us to the places we need to inhabit so that we may thrive, here and now, in this lifetime. The element that I often witness as missing in us is the embodiment of belief; belief in our selves, belief in our abilities, belief in our dreams, and belief in the idea that what we think is possible can be made reality. Therapy, like life, is not easy much of the time and, like life, therapy requires a deep commitment to one's self. The ways in which I work--somatically (with the body), collaboratively (client and therapist as a cohesive unit), and intuitively (working with whatever arises in session)--help to foster that knowing, trust in oneself, and the willingness to see the patterns in your life that are holding you back from being your best self. All the while, cultivating the capacity for growth through facing the challenges in your life. Together, we will work to deepen your commitment to your self and help you to have a broader, and deeper, set of options as you intentionally design the life you wish to lead and shape yourself into more of the person you want to be.
