My Approach to Helping
We are inherently driven and have the strength within to be our best selves - this is my philosophy on the human condition. The path to true self-discovery and a fulfilling life can be muddied by relationships and experiences we encounter along the way. In attempts to smooth out the trail ahead, we often construct defenses and self-limiting patterns that hold us back from the life we truly desire and deserve. This is where the power of our therapeutic alliance comes in.
My approach to psychotherapy is influenced heavily by Carl Rogers’ Humanistic understanding of the human experience - that each person can thrive in an environment with genuineness, acceptance, and empathy. My role as your therapist is to build and maintain a safe and secure relationship and environment for you to unpack and reconstruct your experience. Yoga tremendously impacts my approach to therapy as it integrates the idea that self-discovery is an unending and powerful process that strengthens the mind, body, and spirit.
