What's My Approach to Therapy?

When we get stuck and trapped by the overwhelming feelings and demands in our life, it is possible to find hope, choice, and voice around what is happening, particularly when there is someone to accompany us in those places with much thoughtfulness and care. My approach to supporting you will be to provide a safe space and warm relationship for you to sort through the parts in your life that are impacting you. I generally support my clients to use the time and space in sessions how they would like in terms of the content, and as we work together I will draw from an array of therapeutic perspectives to think with you about what is coming up, and how you'd like to relate to the relational dynamics, feelings, and challenges that are present.

My Practice & Services

Generally we begin by setting up a 10-15 minute phone consultation to initially see if I can be of help for you. Our first few sessions are a time for us both to see if this is a place where you can land and get the support you need. It is an honor for me to get to know and work with the individuals I do.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

There are many different types of therapy, and the duration and frequency can vary depending on who you are meeting with. As a practitioner who values doing more foundational work, I tend to work more long term with individuals around the issues that they are coming in with for support. Sessions are scheduled at least once a week for 50 minute increments, however they can be longer or more frequent depending on your situation. Though I do generally work long term with clients, I also am comfortable working with individuals for just a season, and also value your choice to begin and end counseling when you would like and feel our work is done.
