My Approach to Helping
Perhaps you are at a turning point in your life where you know in your deepest intuition that there is an imbalance in life and in your wellness. When you feel like your direction is unclear, when you question who you are and how you show up in the world, when you question your choices and thoughts, and when you know that there is a deeper sense of peace that feels far away, healing is needed. Entering into a healing space with a therapist can be the startcontinuation to uncovering obstacles keeping you from living your most authentic life as your best self.
I bring to our therapy space a true understanding of how challenging life can be when grappling with anxiety, depression, unhelpful thought forms and dysfunctional patterns, all of which inevitably impact every aspect of life. I know how lost one can become while trying to heal from the pains of family of origin, trauma(s), oppression (internal and external), and from our own unhelpful narrativesstories (accurate or not).
This is where healing with the help of a non judgemental witness, who illuminates areas to grow and deepen, is vital. We heal in relationship with others and I will dedicate my compassion, empathy and wisdom to journeying alongside you in your healing process.
More Info About My Practice
I am approved to offer clinical supervision to associate therapists seeking supervision towards licensure.
- I seek to engage supervisees in a collaborative and relational approach to building a clinically sound practice, identifying one’s resonant niché, and to develop one’s clinical mindtailoring your approach to varying client presentations and issues.
- I want to help clinicians who approach their work from a social justice and systems perspective. I also want to help newer clinicians focus on what a sustainable practice means for them, while honoring their capacity, internalized narratives of worth, strengths, and resources.
- I also have experience navigating private practice building and sustainability as an HSP (highly sensitive person) with a history of chronic illness. I encourage those who identify this way to seek the proper support to sustain your business and wellbeing as a clinician.
- In my clinical work, I have predominantly met with BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities (with my own personal overlap being part of a multiculturalSouth Asian diaspora and queer communities).
- I am trained in and incorporate an eclectic blend of existential, humanistic, narrative, developmental attachment trauma, IFS, and client-centered approaches and can be used to help you develop those modalities but are not limited to these approaches.
