My Approach to Helping
Are you looking to better understand your patterns and develop a more authentic sense of self? Are you finding yourself questioning the meaning of your life and feeling alone in the face of existential dread? Are you constantly feeling overwhelmed and struggle with accepting the unknown? You may be looking for a supportive space where you can better understand your emotional experience. Whether your are dealing with a loss of a loved one, mental health struggles, a life transition, or want an objective space to process your lived experience, I would be honored to support you through the process of growth, and self-discovery.
I help clients cultivate greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and emotional resilience. My goal is to help you discover your true self and learn to live a more embodied life. I use an integrated, relational and somatic approach in my work and believe that the therapeutic relationship is a key component to the therapeutic process.
I work with a diverse range of adults and feel privileged beyond belief that I can help affirm and support my clients. Therapy can offer an emotional release and a sense of really being heard, understood and supported. I understand how difficult it can be to take the first step towards seeking support. It would be my pleasure to support you on your journey.
More Info About My Practice
My work is rooted in person-centered, somatic, existential, narrative, and IFS modalities. But those are just guiding points. Therapy isn’t about working within tiny, neat boxes. Our work will be unique and evolving. It will grow as you grow. I primarily work with adults, and I have a specialized focus in anxiety, life transitions, family cycle breakers, trauma, and serving the LGBTQIA+ community. I also believe advocacy is an essential part of mental health treatment- I work through a social justice lens, and I wholeheartedly embrace a body neutrality Health at Every Size approach.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I know what it's like to feel stuck and want more out of life. I have felt weighed down by my past and disconnected from my true self. I understand how hard change is and the discomfort that can come from breaking free from internalized beliefs while learning how to sit with the hard parts of life.
I lived the first part of my life behind a mask of people-pleasing and trying to be what everyone else wanted me to be. I struggled in my childhood and early adulthood with limiting beliefs, overcoming trauma, and self-esteem issues. Therapy was one of the most powerful doorways to self-acceptance and change.
Through my own positive experience with therapy, I knew that it was time to help others give voice to the authentic parts of themselves. This is why I enjoy doing transformational work with my clients. I know first-hand the powerful changes that are possible through a strong therapeutic relationship, curiosity and self-compassion.
