My Approach to Helping

Do you feel like you aren’t living the life you want? Do you feel overwhelmed by current events while trying to navigate a new normal? Do you find yourself wanting a more peaceful relationship with yourself and others? Maybe you feel like you can’t locate your real voice. And yet, you want to connect to a deeper sense of self. You want more truth, and you definitely don’t want to keep sacrificing your own needs and desires. Wherever you are on your journey, you deserve to feel seen and heard. I’m here to help you uncover your truth and honor how you want to show up in this world.

I work collaboratively with my clients to help them access their inner wisdom to unlock what is blocking them from living the life they want to live. Having overcome my own obstacles in life, I value providing an inclusive, down-to-earth space where clients can show up exactly as they are. I work with clients to examine the behaviors, thoughts, and feelings that inform their life and sense of self.

My work is rooted in person-centered, somatic, existential, narrative, and IFS modalities. But those are just guiding points. Therapy isn’t about working within tiny, neat boxes. Our work will be unique and evolving. It will grow as you grow. I primarily work with adults, and I have a specialized focus in life transitions, trauma, women’s issues, and serving the LGBTQI+ community. I also believe advocacy is an essential part of mental health treatment- I work through a social justice lens, and I wholeheartedly embrace a Health at Every Size approach.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

I lived the first part of my life behind a mask of people-pleasing and trying to be what everyone else wanted me to be. I struggled in my childhood and early adulthood with limiting beliefs, overcoming trauma, and self-esteem issues. Through my own healing journey, I knew that it was time to help others give voice to the authentic parts of themselves. This is why I enjoy doing transformational work with my clients. I know first-hand the powerful changes that are possible through the therapeutic process.
