My Approach to Helping

Are you feeling overwhelmed by always placing others' needs ahead of your own? Do anxiety and the nagging feeling of not being enough-or perhaps being "too much"-sound all too familiar? Life's unexpected twists and turns can be daunting, but you don't have to face them alone. As a therapist specializing in personal growth and navigating life changes, I am committed to providing a space where your voice is acknowledged and your path to self-acceptance is supported.

My practice is centered on helping individuals like you who are seeking anxiety relief, coping with loss, experiencing significant life transitions, or simply aiming to cultivate self-compassion and a better understanding of themselves. Through an integrative therapy approach, I draw on various techniques to build self-awareness and connect with your emotions, tailoring our sessions to your unique needs.

A therapeutic alliance is the cornerstone of my work, creating a partnership where we can explore your experiences and goals in a supportive, collaborative environment. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, I find inspiration in the tranquility of the ocean and the companionship of animals. I'm someone who enjoys deep connections with people, the escapism of Bravo TV, and quality time with my two rescue dogs.

I strive to create a down-to-earth and welcoming atmosphere, and I hope to make therapy a place where you can be your authentic self. Taking the step to start therapy is courageous, and I'm glad you've taken that step by finding my profile. I would be honored to support you, and together we can work towards finding the balance and peace you deserve in your life.

More Info About My Practice

The therapeutic relationship is what guides my work, and I am informed by a person-centered, somatic, existential, and IFS lens. However, these are just guiding points. Therapy is not about working within tiny, neat boxes. Our work will be unique and evolving, growing as you grow. I primarily work with adults and have a specialized focus on anxiety, overwhelm, life transitions, adult ADHD, trauma, and serving the LGBTQIA+ community. I also believe that advocacy is an essential part of mental health treatment. I work through a social justice lens and wholeheartedly embrace a body neutrality and Health at Every Size approach.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I understand the feeling of being stuck and yearning for more in life. I have personally experienced the weight of my past and the disconnection from my true self. I empathize with the challenges of change and the discomfort that can arise from challenging internalized beliefs and confronting life's difficulties.

During my early life, I struggled with people-pleasing and conforming to others' expectations, facing limiting beliefs, trauma, and self-esteem issues. Therapy became a powerful tool for self-acceptance and transformation.

Having benefited from therapy myself, I am passionate about guiding others on their journey of self-discovery. I have witnessed firsthand the profound changes that can occur within a supportive therapeutic relationship, fostering curiosity and growth.
