My Approach to Helping
Are you looking to better understand your patterns and develop a more authentic sense of self? Are you finding yourself questioning the meaning of your life and feeling alone in the face of existential dread? Are you struggling with anxiety? You may be looking for emotional support and a space where you can better understand your inner world. Whether your are dealing with a loss of a loved one, mental health struggles, a life transition, or want to gain greater insight, I would be honored to support you through the process of healing, growth, and self-discovery.
I help clients cultivate greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and emotional resilience. My goal is to help you discover your true self and learn to live authentically, in a way that feels right for you. I use an integrated and relational approach in my work and believe that the therapeutic relationship is a key component to the therapeutic process.
I work with a diverse range of adults and feel privileged beyond belief that I can help affirm and support my clients. I understand how difficult it can be to take the first step towards seeking support. But I also know that therapy can be life-changing, and I'm here to support you on your journey towards growth and change.
More Info About My Practice
My work is rooted in person-centered, somatic, existential, narrative, and IFS modalities. But those are just guiding points. Therapy isn’t about working within tiny, neat boxes. Our work will be unique and evolving. It will grow as you grow. I primarily work with adults, and I have a specialized focus in life transitions, trauma, women’s issues, and serving the LGBTQIA+ community. I also believe advocacy is an essential part of mental health treatment- I work through a social justice lens, and I wholeheartedly embrace a Health at Every Size approach.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
I have felt weighed down by my past and disconnected from my true self. I know what it's like to want more out of life. I understand how hard change is and the discomfort that can come from feeling stuck.
I lived the first part of my life behind a mask of people-pleasing and trying to be what everyone else wanted me to be. I struggled in my childhood and early adulthood with limiting beliefs, overcoming trauma, and self-esteem issues.
Through my own healing journey, I knew that it was time to help others give voice to the authentic parts of themselves. This is why I enjoy doing transformational work with my clients. I know first-hand the powerful changes that are possible through the therapeutic process and relationship.
