My Approach to Helping
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate, I provide counseling to individuals aged 14 and older. My approach to counseling integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with Mindfulness interventions in a Solution-Focused framework. I work collaboratively with clients to understand their problems within the context of their lives. Depending on the client’s life perspective and identified needs, in addition to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy I may utilize other theoretical approaches.
My areas of clinical interest include individual and professional development, relationship enrichment, social skills development, and grief and loss. I love working with clients who desire to understand their anxiety and or depression, but do not know where to start when doing so. I also have a unique interest and experience working with families and the individuals who have suffered from traumatic brain injury. I am passionate about walking alongside clients as they navigate this difficult transition, and helping clients move towards growth and resilience as they live more authentically.
I may assign tasks or reading to be completed outside of therapy, and when appropriate I use assessment tools to gather additional information as needed. I provide brief or long-term therapy, with the length of treatment varying from client to client.
