My Approach to Helping
I utilize an integrative approach that combines a client-centered attitude with therapy focused on the personal needs and strengths of my clients. My approach is rooted in building strong relationships based on trust, understanding, and respect, that challenge individuals to learn about themselves, and to use that knowledge to implement meaningful changes in their lives.
I have experience working with a diverse range of clients and presenting issues. I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups, and focus on topics such as anxiety, depression, life changes, grief and loss, and trauma. I encourage my clients to continue their therapy outside of the office using exercises and techniques, which are learned in session.
I have an extensive professional background. I have worked as a Clinical Director of a psychiatric hospital, training and supervising clinicians working with children and adults in an inpatient setting and an intensive outpatient setting. Additionally, I have several years of experience in interdisciplinary teamwork, case management, and clinical consulting.
