My Approach to Helping
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Atlantic University located in Boca Raton, FL. I acquired my Master of Science degree in 1999 from St. Thomas University in Miami, FL, where I majored in Mental Health Counseling. I have over 22 years of working in the mental health field and substance abuse clientele. I specialize in clientele with chronic mental illnesses, including psychosis, personality disorders, addictions, and mood disorders.
Therapy is a process where the client discusses issues and concerns with me to find a way to either cope with situations or relieve themselves of the stressor. I like to make sure that clients recognize that it is not a method of being given the answers to your problems or how to solve daily issues. You already have that within yourself! I will be there to be an objective voice to help you view different perspectives from other angles. It is easy for a person to become wrapped up in issues they cannot rationalize. This is where I come in to help you “to look outside of the box.”
