My Approach to Helping
I believe in the power of everyone’s stories. My goal is to assist clients in taking agency in their lives through self-exploration and developing their narratives. However, the process of therapy can be daunting. I respect the vulnerability that you have demonstrated in searching for help.
In my work, I use humor and warmth to develop a working relationship with clients. I believe in
providing empathic and genuine interactions, so that clients may navigate the thoughts and emotions that have limited them from connecting to their desired selves. I am a keen observer of common threads within clients’ narratives and work collaboratively with you to unravel their meanings. As a Mexican-American bilingual therapist, I value the impact of culture on clients’ narratives and provide a safe space for you to express yourself fully.
I use interventions based on emotion-focused, narrative, multicultural, and cognitive behavioral theories and therapy. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, life span issues, family conflict, and trauma-related issues. I have worked with clients ranging from toddlers to adults in individual, couple, and family therapy. The majority of my experience has been within the Latinx community y tambien se ofrece servicios en español.
I hope to help you embrace the person you have been and are becoming. Your story is worthy of being heard and understood.
