My Approach to Helping
We all deserve to be fulfilled and feel empowered in our lives, and yet some circumstances can be very challenging to navigate. You don't have to do it alone. The first step is to ask for help and support. I know it can be tricky to search for the right therapist, so I appreciate you being here and reading my profile.
My philosophy on therapy is that personal change and growth occur through a process of collaboration between the client and therapist. Thus, my approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and empowerment-focused. I believe a trusting relationship with an open and compassionate therapist is essential for developing self-awareness, promoting change, and reaching goals. I also believe that you (yes, you!) are worthy of love and care and that taking care of yourself is the most generous thing you can do for the world.
More Info About My Practice
I have spent most of my adult life helping clients through holistic wellness. My background as a massage therapist and yoga teacher greatly informs my style of therapy and coaching. Looking back at the clients I have served over the years, I have been able to find something about each and every one of them that I respect and admire. The beauty of engaging in a therapeutic relationship lies in having someone in your corner who has your back, can validate your perspective, support you in clarifying what you want out of life, and help you achieve your personal goals. Therapy and coaching sessions with me will provide you with all the space you need to feel safe and be understood and heard. It's important to me to provide a non-judgemental haven where you can be your true, full self. There is not a "one size fits all" approach to therapy or coaching. I value your uniqueness and will tailor my approach based on your needs.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
Being a therapist and coach is an honor! I absolutely love helping people become healthier and more empowered and witnessing them achieve more fulfilling lives. The most rewarding thing about my work is seeing a person walk away from treatment lighter, freer, and excited about their life.
Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed
When you open up to me, I will not think you are too sensitive, I will think you are courageous and human. Through many years of working with people like you, I know that what you are going through is very common. You're not being dramatic or "too much." Nothing you can say will cause me to judge you. I know nobody's perfect, we all struggle, and we may end up feeling emotionally drained from the ups and downs of life. Whatever it is you're going through, I provide a calming space where I will respect you and listen to you with focus and compassion.
