Hi, I am Dr. Sharon Stremel, and I am a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Addiction Counselor. I believe therapy is a unique, ongoing process of growth and self-discovery. My approach is tailored to your individual needs, drawing from multiple therapeutic models. Whether you’re seeking practical tools to manage challenges or deeper healing, I adapt to what’s most effective for you. The word my clients most often use to describe me is 'real' or 'genuine,' and I take that as a compliment. I firmly believe in being authentic with my clients, as they can quickly tell if a therapist isn't being themself. I typically begin the therapeutic journey by getting to know my clients and their histories. Within the first session or two, I aim to teach at least one simple, practical skill they can use to cope with stress. I’ve found that striking a balance between providing a safe space to share one’s story and offering tools for managing stress sets the tone for deeper self-exploration and healing. For clients who decide to engage in that deeper work, they will be met with respect and compassion every step of the way. No matter where clients are in their therapeutic journey, many appreciate my sense of humor, which helps make even the most emotionally challenging work feel manageable.
