What's My Approach to Therapy?

As a psychologist committed to strength-based approaches, I help clients recognize and utilize their existing knowledge and skills to create better lives. My work with clients both supports and challenges them, affirming who they are, what they believe, and how they think they can change.

I take an approach that focuses much more on possibility than pathology, and as such, I help clients find creative ways to approach problems and develop personal stories that fulfill them. I consider it an honor to do the work I do, and I strive to not only respect, but enhance, clients' dignity.

Creating professional relationships with clients founded in respect, caring, and a desire for positive outcomes, I utilize a wide range of techniques and theories to help clients reach their goals. I work with clients' natural ways of growing, and help them understand and improve how they think, feel, and act.

When clients work with me, they find the strength within themselves to develop into who they want to be. I believe expertise on issues is co-created with clients, and in therapy, I strive for people to experience a wide range of feelings and thoughts, from sadness and longing to laughter and joy, so that they can lead their most fulfilling lives in the world.

My Practice & Services

I own and operate a comprehensive psychological services practice that provides the highest quality therapy to individuals, couples, and families. Dealing with clients with compassion, honesty, and skill, I work collaboratively with clients to ensure they are getting what they need out of the counseling experience. Together with my skilled associates, our group practice has the additional benefit of being able to treat whole systems (couples, individuals, and families) if desired and clinically indicated. Our team of talented clinicians work and continuously grow together, honing their clinical care, staying up to date with the newest developments in counseling, psychological health, and research, and putting their enthusiasm and energy into creating a healing and growth-inducing environment for all clients.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

No matter what difficulty a client comes into my practice with and how hard they are struggling, my goal is to connect with a client with enthusiasm and hope. I believe in the psychotherapeutic process - but even more importantly, I believe in the strength of people to confront challenges and change their lived experience to one that is meaningful, fulfilling, fun, and happy. I am honored to be part of that journey of healing, growth, and development in whatever way I can.
