I work with people who have survived trauma and with their therapists. I believe in your innate capacity to change and heal. I trust that from my own ongoing healing, and from working with individuals for four decades. It can get better. And it takes time and attention.
Would you like to feel calm? If your body vibrates, unsteady with anxiety, or is immobile, stuck in depressed states, consider this: anxiety and depression are often in a range of active and passive survival resources. They may be connected to unresolved stress and trauma that left you with fragmented "parts". These unconscious parts generate states that "remember" the thought, feelings and sensations of the overwhelm. This is particularly true of early childhood trauma (C-PTSD). Maybe you have conflicted thoughts, mixed emotions, baffling grief, and a very confused and chaotic nervous system that is overloaded in you.
I'll work with you to co-create a sense of safety, understanding, and acceptance. I deeply value your collaboration, and want to support your honest expression. That can soften overwhelming stress. And we will work at your particular pace. This benefits and eases all aspects of your experience and parts of yourself. I wonder what would happen if you felt more in charge of yourself.
When you mindfully notice when important parts of your self get triggered into habitual feelings, impulses, beliefs, or physical nervous system activation, you can begin to influence these states. You can transform patterns that no longer serve you or your relationships. I can support your increase of confidence and competence. Often people I work with say "this kind of therapy feels different."
Now that you have come this far, email me. I am interested to talk, and to set a time to meet, so I can gain more understanding your situation.

More Info About My Practice
I also work with therapists, consulting on trauma, especially related to somatic issues, body activation and memory states, as well as dissociated parts, alienated by trauma. I can help therapists expand their work or collaborate with your therapist in your interest. I invite you to call or email so we can begin a conversation to support your needs and interest. You are welcome to schedule a free 30 minute consultation to help you in the important decision of choosing a therapist. I hope I can be of service to you.
My Therapy Focus
Hakomi founder, Ron Kurtz once said "Therapy ought to be about having experiences, not just talking about them." I focus on helping people have a different experience of their life as they sit in my office, so they can have a different experience of their life outside my office.
I focus attention to what is happening in the moment--now, as we speak. This manages tendencies to be overburdened by the past or future. Observing what happens when you remember may be more important than what you remember. It is the impact that you want to change, because you can?t change your history. This resource gives you more ability to respond instead of react in situations. I'll help you appreciate the wisdom of your body sensations, your thoughts and your feelings and re-organize them for more freedom and balance in your life.
If something is too much--running thoughts, unresolved feelings, or distracting, disagreeable physical sensations? I'll help you regain control of yourself, so you can do more of what you want. If something is not enough--like no feeling, weak boundaries, helpless immobility--I'll help you get energy and strength to move into action and more effective, pleasant life.
We will work in real time: the present. (Email me for details.)
