My Approach to Helping
Thanks for inquiring. I am not taking new clients now, finishing an education program based on a musical 1-man play I've written about trauma healing, Working My Way Back...and Forward. Email if you want information. Web info in to come 31519.
I work with people who have survived trauma and with their therapists. I believe in your innate capacity to change and heal. I trust that from my own ongoing healing, and from working with individuals for four decades. It can get better. And it takes time and attention.
Would you like to feel calm? If your body vibrates, unsteady with anxiety, or is immobile, stuck in depressed states, consider this: anxiety and depression are often in a range of active and passive survival resources. They may be connected to unresolved stress and trauma that left you with fragmented "parts". These unconscious parts generate states that "remember" the thought, feelings and sensations of the overwhelm. This is particularly true of early childhood trauma (C-PTSD). Maybe you have conflicted thoughts, mixed emotions, baffling grief, and a very confused and chaotic nervous system that is overloaded in you.
I'll work with you to co-create a sense of safety, understanding, and acceptance. I deeply value your collaboration, and want to support your honest expression. That can soften overwhelming stress. And we will work at your particular pace. This benefits and eases all aspects of your experience and parts of yourself. I wonder what would happen if you felt more in charge of yourself.
When you mindfully notice when important parts of your self get triggered into habitual feelings, impulses, beliefs, or physical nervous system activation, you can begin to influence these states. You can transform patterns that no longer serve you or your relationships. I can support your increase of confidence and competence. Often people I work with say "this kind of therapy feels different."
Now that you have come this far, email me. I am interested to talk, and to set a time to meet, so I can gain more understanding your situation.
