My Approach to Helping
I have broad experience working with women and men on medical issues and mood disorders. I also have received specialized training in working with Dissociative Identity Disorder (multiple personality disorder) and adult sexual abuse survivors. If you are struggling with relationships, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and assertiveness issues, I may be the person to help you. Do you want a therapist who will listen attentively, guide you through life's transitions, and assist you to meet goals and needs? Please contact me with confidence.
My educational background includes a degree in sociology from University of Illinois, Jane Addams College of Social Work. I further obtained a Registered Nursing license, and worked as a psychiatric RN in a hospital setting. I graduated from Roosevelt University with a master's degree in counseling in 1998.
The unique combination of being both a therapist and RN enables me to provide increased empathy and connection between mind and body, as well as specialized training. My patients know I work hard to help them; I see them as individuals and prepare a treatment plan focused on their recovery.
