My Approach to Helping
I think the collaborative relationship is one of the most important components of therapy. That’s why I work to create a comfortable, welcoming space. I hope to help my clients achieve their goals, uncover solutions to their problems, and lead better lives. I use an integrative approach because I believe no two clients are alike. I often use motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and interpersonal therapy because I find them highly effective. However, I often tweak my treatment approach based on what works for each client. I believe in empowering each client, and help my clients build on their strengths.
More Info About My Practice
I graduated from Argosy University-Schaumburg Campus, where I received a master of arts (MA) and doctor of psychology (PsyD). I have worked in community mental health and private practice, and in group, individual, and couples counseling. I specialize in anxiety and mood disorders. I have worked with elders, adults, children, and adolescents. I am also skilled at psychological testing with teens, children, and adults.
In my free time, I enjoy time with my husband, my friends and family, and my cat, Cosmo. I love reading, music, and movies. My primary musical choice lately has been country, but I also like pop and rock. I love raveling and learning about different cultures.
