My Approach to Helping
Going through unexpected change is not easy. Without support, it can make coping with things difficult. Whether you have sought counseling before or not, it can be challenging to find a person that you are comfortable with. With over 14 years of experience counseling individuals in their time of need, I’ve learned what is helpful and what can make the difference in the life of someone through counseling.
As a cognitive behavioral therapist, I assist clients to address the challenges in the present but also to identify and modify the underlying dysfunctional beliefs about themselves, their world, and other people. This can bring about enduring change.
The most central ideas in my work are 1. People are doing the best that they can…but people can bring about change in their life. 2. With support, clients can develop skills necessary to address their concerns and solve their problems. 3.Change is constant and it is important to work within what is in your control.
