My Approach to Helping
I provide a safe space for all genders. Therapy is a journey; there are highs and lows, times of progress, and times of challenge. I walk with my clients to meet where they are at and help to overcome the challenges they face. It can be scary to ask for help, and in doing so, you have taken the first steps along your journey, and I would be happy to accompany you.
In therapy, I offer services for adolescents, young adults, and adults. I specialize in anxiety disorders, behavioral issues, family conflict, and stress.
Mood Disorders: Anxiety, Depression, and Bipolar disorder are a few of the different mood disorders that can impact your every day life. You may feel helpless, but through therapy, I can help find the ideal method to regain control.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD): If you are living your life via compulsions and obsessive thoughts, I have experience in finding ideal coping mechanisms. You may be diagnosed with germaphobia or, even, trichotillomania. I understand your symptoms and want to help you heal.
Substance Abuse Recovery: If you have been through a recovery program via rehabilitation center or on your own, I provide recovery support. I have experience with different support groups and with the families of the afflicted. I can help find and live out your new normal.
I use different approaches for each person. I believe in an individual based healing process no matter the diagnosis, whether common or not. I use person-centered techniques such as Mindfulness, CBT, DBT, and Talk therapy when needed.
I earned my undergraduate in Psychology at Northern Illinois University and my M.S. from National Louis University. In my free time, I enjoy being out in nature, spending time with my family, playing video games, and rooting for my favorite hockey team, the Chicago Blackhawks.
