My Approach to Helping
For over 15 years, I have assisted individuals and groups to achieve goals and perspectives that lead to a healthier mindset. Through a supportive environment, I have been helping clients utilize tools to guide them through personal challenges. Specializing in the medical arena, I assist clients with chronic pain, depression, and other challenges with a dedication to client-centered goals. I enjoy working with older teenagers, adults, and geriatric populations. As a retired military veteran, I am sensitive to the needs of our active duty, veterans, and veteran families. I currently serve with the Red Cross as a Service to the Armed Forces Facilitator.
Being an LPN for over 30 years and an LCMHC for over 15 years, I have worked in multiple fields, including chronic pain. I utilize a blend of cognitive-behavioral, mind-body medicine, dialectical behavioral, and when a client asks for Christian-based practices,
I have served on active duty in the Air Force as a Diet Technician, where I learned to counsel on basic nutrition and received a DOL Masters certificate in this. I retired in the healthcare field from the North Carolina Air National Guard after three tours during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
