The human experience is filled with times of joy, resiliency and many opportunities. We all have moments of being at the top of the mountain or in the valleys below. The human being may struggle at times, while in the valleys however can show remarkable achievement across their lifespan. The helping profession which does include counseling can prove to be a remarkable experience. Even through the times of struggle one can become empowered to reach a very balanced and fulfilled existence. We all carry our accomplishments as well as our challenges. Our efforts in the helping profession are to follow alongside those we help and provide compassionate, unfiltered, and unconditional positive regard. Our experiences, however unique, do have experience in common with others. Exploring the essence of our existence, although sometimes hard, is extremely rewarding in the end. We walk the path together. “If I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.” – Mahatma Ghandi
