My Approach to Helping
Growing up as a Latino in New York City has helped shape me to be a therapist who is culturally-sensitive to individuals and families of different ethnic backgrounds, religions, races and sexual orientations and gender identities. Having been raised in the vast cultural "melting-pot" of NYC has exposed me to many different backgrounds which I have learned to admire and appreciate the differences that make everyone special in their own way. This has also helped shape my view that everyone, despite our differences and struggles, has so much to offer others and deserve the right to be happy.
Throughout therapy, clients can expect to work with a clinician with great interpersonal skills who is culturally-sensitive and will work collaboratively to help achieve the best results in treatment. After an initial evaluation I will provide a diagnosis and over the next 2-3 sessions will begin formulating a treatment plan based on goals set by the client. These personal treatment goals will help guide the course of therapy.
