My Approach to Helping

It takes courage to reach out for help. Being vulnerable, putting ourselves first, and facing our internal struggles can feel daunting and unfamiliar. I've been there before, which is why as a therapist I am committed to holding a warm and trusting environment where you feel seen, heard, and accepted as you are. I use warmth, humor, and an open mind to cultivate a non-judgmental space that empowers my clients to be their authentic selves. My approach to therapy is exploratory and collaborative. We will explore what feels most pressing for you now, as well as old patterns that may be holding you back from a greater sense of fulfillment and ease. Together we can process through the distress, make meaning of your experiences, and rediscover your strengths and sense of hope.

More Info About My Practice

I encourage my clients to seek clarity, share feedback, and communicate their needs, so we can find the right therapeutic path that fosters transformational growth. You are the expert of your life with many strengths and unique experiences. I am honored that you would share your story with me and allow me to be a part of your journey towards healing and resilience.

Groups I Work With

As a first-generation, Cambodian-American, and a child of refugees, I understand how influential culture, family, and community are in shaping our worldview. For that reason, I view therapy through a multicultural and trauma-informed lens understanding that there are many layers to our experiences based on the identities we hold. I am passionate about exploring the impacts of marginalization and oppression on our well-being and integrating cultural values and practices into therapy. I work from a humanistic perspective with a foundation in psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapy. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, life span issues, suicidal ideation, self-harm, griefloss, intergenerational trauma family conflict, and other trauma-related concerns. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in individual, group, and family therapy settings.
