My Approach to Therapy

You may be the one others rely on in your work and still feel unsettled in your closest relationships. Conversations may lose their footing, tension may build quickly, or the same painful pattern may keep returning despite your best efforts. You may be tired of carrying the emotional weight, being misread, or wondering why insight alone has not changed the dynamic. When that is the case, it helps to work with someone who can recognize what is happening beneath the surface and help you address it with clarity and precision. I work with busy professionals, individuals, couples, and adult families who value thoughtful, efficient support and substantive progress. With 27 years of clinical experience and 23 years of marriage, I bring both professional training and lived understanding to this work. My approach is direct, intuitive, and carefully tailored to your goals, your circumstances, and the realities of your life. Together, we identify what is driving the strain, what keeps repeating, and what needs to shift so you can begin relating in a more grounded and effective way. Each session is purposeful. We look closely at the habits, assumptions, emotional reactions, and communication patterns shaping your relationships, then translate that understanding into practical action. The work is not about circling the same issue without movement. It is about clearer communication, sounder judgment, stronger boundaries, and a steadier relationship with yourself and the people who matter most. If you are coming on your own, that is still a powerful place to begin. I offer strategy sessions for spouses who are ready to make changes even when their husband or wife is not ready for therapy. I also work with adult family members who want help with conflict, boundary strain, longstanding roles, and conversations that have become difficult to repair. Often, when one person changes their position, the dynamic begins to change as well. I also offer 3 hour power sessions for those who want a concentrated format and quicker traction when weekly therapy is not the best fit. If therapy is not the format you want, Relationship Communication Coaching is available wherever you are for focused, high level relational support. If you are looking for thoughtful, high level support that respects your time and helps you create real forward movement, I invite you to reach out for a complimentary consultation.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

You are accomplished, capable, and driven, but exhausted from carrying the emotional weight of relationships that feel one-sided. I help high-functioning professionals move through emotional gridlock and into meaningful growth. Here are the areas I specialize in with you in mind: Emotionally Distant or High-Conflict Relationships Whether you're living like roommates or trapped in the same arguments on repeat, I help you move from defensiveness and shutdown to clarity, connection, and mutual respect. No more guessing where you stand. Life Transitions That Shake Your Foundation When life throws a curve, divorce, career shifts, parenting struggles, or an identity crisis, it can leave you feeling untethered. I help you find your footing and turn those transitions into powerful pivots. Internalized Pressure & Self-Silencing You have been the peacemaker, the problem-solver, the one everyone depends on, but now you are emotionally drained and unsure how to advocate for yourself. I help you reclaim your voice and set boundaries that feel both firm and fair. One-Sided Effort in the Relationship If your partner will not come to therapy, I can still help. I work with individuals who want to repair or rebuild their relationships from the inside out, without begging, pleasing, or losing themselves in the process. Self-Discovery for People Who Have Lost Themselves You have checked all the boxes: career, family, responsibilities, but still feel like something is missing. I help you reconnect with who you really are beneath all the roles, so you can start living a life that actually feels like yours. Coaching That Moves You Forward, Fast For clients outside of California, I offer laser-focused coaching packages designed to deliver clarity and momentum. No fluff. Just deep, strategic support tailored to your growth and your goals.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Taking the step to begin psychotherapy can feel daunting, especially for professionals, entrepreneurs, and busy couples who are used to managing everything on their own. Maybe you are concerned about opening up to someone new or skeptical that talking alone can help solve deeply rooted challenges. These feelings are completely natural, and still find the courage to start the change you want now. Therapy is a partnership where we work together to get to the heart of what is holding you back, whether that is stress from your career patterns from your past, or struggles in your relationships. This process helps you gain clarity on what is beneath the surface and why certain dynamics keep repeating, often without you even realizing it. You will learn practical tools to manage anxiety, improve communication, set healthy boundaries, and reconnect with what matters most to you. This is about shifting from surviving to thriving, both in your personal life and in your relationships. It is also important to understand that therapy is tailored specifically to your unique story and goals. We will design an approach that respects your time, your values, and the complexities you face. Sometimes only one partner is ready to engage in therapy, and that is okay. Healing starts with one person showing up, and I will help you build momentum regardless of where others are in their readiness. Therapy can feel challenging because it asks you to confront difficult emotions and patterns, but it also brings incredible relief. Many clients tell me they feel a sense of peace and self-compassion they never thought possible. You will gain a deeper understanding of yourself, break free from old cycles, and create healthier ways to connect with the people who matter most. When you are ready to take that step, you will learn how to put language to those small nuances that disrupt communication. You will understand how to create and apply practical tools designed to help you move forward in meaningful ways. Whether you live in California or anywhere around the world, coaching packages are available to support your journey. Let us begin that path together.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I love being a Marriage and Family Therapist because it gives me the privilege of witnessing change in others who thought this was not possible. I'm clear about guiding clients toward greater understanding and authenticity. Every path is unique, and I find joy in tailoring my approach to meet specific needs while helping others create lastingchange in their relationships and within themselves. Over the years, I noticed a growing number of clients reaching out from all over the world, seeking support but unable to access therapy in person due to distance or other constraints. So I launched my coaching practice in 2024, extending my expertise beyond geographic boundaries. Now, I have the freedom to serve clients anywhere, offering both coaching and therapy depending on their needs. Connecting with individuals and couples globally has been incredibly fulfilling, allowing me to help more people create the relationships and lives they truly desire. While therapy and coaching are often seen as separate paths, my work bridges both with a shared purpose: creating real results. Therapy focuses on healing past wounds, addressing emotional pain, and exploring the roots of mental and relational challenges. It offers a safe space for insight, reflection, and growth. Coaching, on the other hand, is more forward-focused and action-oriented. It emphasizes goal setting, strategy, and skill building to create progress. It is typically short-term and designed to move clients efficiently from where they are to where they want to be. What sets my work apart is that, whether you choose therapy or coaching, you receive the same level of honesty, support, and commitment to transformation. I blend the strengths of both approaches to meet you exactly where you are. My goal is to provide clear tools, real support, and practical guidance to help you break free from stuck patterns and step into empowered living. Whether we explore the roots of your challenges or focus on actionable next steps, my work is centered on creating meaningful, lasting change efficiently and compassionately.

My Role as a Therapist

As a therapist, my role is to help you quickly. I am not a passive listener, and I am not going to keep you in the same loop for months. I am here to walk beside you, ask the tough questions, and offer grounded, actionable insight that moves you forward. I challenge your thinking when needed, but I also validate your experience and create a space where you can finally be real. I am a strategist, a sounding board, and sometimes a mirror, reflecting back the patterns you might not even see. I help you connect the dots between your past and your present.
