On November 18, 2016, GoodTherapy.org’s founder and CEO, Noah Rubinstein, LMFT, LMHC, was featured on FYLMIT.com’s video podcast Storytelling Through Video. The two-part interview, titled “How Therapy Saved My Life,” is a discussion between Rubinstein and FYLMIT.com founder Ernesto Segismundo Jr. about the creation of GoodTherapy.org, Rubinstein’s personal journey to find himself through psychotherapy, and the power of forgiveness and redemption.
The interview with Segismundo is one of the first times Rubinstein has publicly shared the story of how bad therapy harmed his family and compelled him to create a company dedicated to promoting ethical, healthy psychotherapy. GoodTherapy.org, founded in 2007, is a leading online directory of mental health professionals devoted to reducing harm in therapy.
“The more people we have behind us, the more visible the value of therapy and inner work becomes,” Rubinstein said. “My hope is that as more individuals release extreme beliefs and feelings that constrain them from feeling compassion, joy, and the thrill of life, the world will become a happier, healthier place.”
